For my Work-In-Progress portfolio website, I decided the easiest way to follow it as it updated was to make a changelog, I chose pastebin to host it because it has a raw paste mode, as the link shows, is free and lasts forever:
Portfolio Website Updated

Portfolio Entry Website
Considering I’m now on a pathway that involves Certificate 4 business and media portfolio entry for university,
I’ve decided for this purpose, and for my own personal projects, that I would make a grid-based portfolio
website that supports external links to YouTube, Vimeo, wordpress etc.
To make the website visually appealing, I considered having preview of video clips in a .gif
format, so they would loop for a few seconds, however, seeing they load faster, I considered using
webm files, I’ve figured out how to make them autoplay when someone visits they page, and they do
load fairly fast, but I have yet to figure out how to make them loops (underneath each webm in the grid,
I’ll hyperlink a page that contains a blog post as well the youtube video etc.)

Celebrities and Stars 2AB Media Report
By Cody Ford
Chosen Celebrity: Metallica
Constructions of the representation:
- Up until 2003, Metallica’s music was characterized by fast-paced tempos, aggressive guitar riffs, and face-melting guitar solos. In 2003, the band released their eighth studio album, St. Anger. It sold some six million copies worldwide, but there was one tiny problem: the band decided they weren’t going to include guitar solos on any of the songs.
This might not seem like a big deal to some, but for most of their fans it was a shock: “What? A Metallica album without guitar solos?”
For almost two decades, one of the defining characteristics of Metallica’s music was extended, flashy guitar solos. Suddenly, without warning, the solos are gone.
Marketing of the representation:
- And in the early Eighties, Metallica led their own rebellion.
- It was a backlash to the mainstream MTV pop culture of the day that embraced all the shiny new coiffed and styled video pop stars like Duran Duran, Men At Work and the Human League.
Associated values and attitudes for subcultural or mainstream audiences:
When I say the word Metallica do you…
- Immediately shudder, wrinkle your nose and think, “Ummm… No? I am SO not into heavy metal music. I was never one of those people”? or…
- Immediately pump your heavy metal horns into the air and start playing serious air guitar while humming the riff to “Sad But True”?
